XL-Tools Library

In alignment with XLRI's enduring commitment to responsible leadership, sustainability, and community well-being, the Library established a Tools Library at XLRI, Jamshedpur, since 1 st April 2026. This is a community initiative that extends library services beyond books and provides shared access to commonly used domestic & utility tools for members of the campus community.
This initiative is designed to reduce individual expenditure on infrequently used tools, encourage sustainable practices through shared usage & foster a culture of responsibility and mutual support.
Objectives
- To promote sustainable and shared use of the resources
- To reduce individual expenses on tools used occasionally
- To enhance convenience and efficiency within the community
- To support the day-to-day needs of domestic, medical, camps & travel, etc.
Scope of Services
The Tools Library will operate on a structured issue-and-return model, similar to regular library services. Authorised users may borrow tools for short-term use. The collection includes basic household, electrical, cleaning, and event-related tools to meet common requirements.
We believe this initiative reflects the spirit of community living and responsible resource management that defines XLRI. By sharing resources, we not only reduce costs but also contribute meaningfully to campus sustainability efforts.
