Fr. Paul Fernandes, S.J.
Fr. Paul Fernandes, S.J., joined as the 13th Director of XLRI on 3 May 2021.
An alumnus of the 1986 batch, Fr Paul Fernandes has served XLRI in different capacities over the years. As a board member, a faculty and a financial controller, he has made significant contributions to the institute.
Fr Paul Fernandes, a visionary academician, was the first Vice-Chancellor of Xavier University, Bhubaneswar. Under his able stewardship Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar won the 2014 BID Century International Quality ERA Award in Geneva. The award was presented by BID to those companies and organizations from around the world that best adhere to excellence and innovation in their practices.
Besides being a discerning administrator, Fr Paul Fernandes has been an ardent researcher and writer. His books include Economic Ethics and the Moral Perspective of the Golden Rule, Business Ethics and Corporate Governance (4 books of 2 units each) and Corporate Governance. He has also co-authored several books like Ethics of Marketing Research, Ethics of Supply Chain Management - empirical research on Indian Supply Chains, International Ethics (a unit written for the IGNOU program on MA in Philosophy).
He earned his Ph.D. in Economics and Ethics from KU, WWF Ingolstadt, Germany. He completed his M.Sc. in Economics and M.A. Licentiate in Applied Ethics from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium.
