XLRI-Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur, the country’s oldest and premier business school launches a new 2-Year Post Graduate Diploma in Finance (PGDF) in the online mode. The 2-year PGDF program is offered online with a one-week intensive campus module at XLRI Jamshedpur and a week immersion module in Mumbai for understanding the operations of exchanges and depositories, including workshops from senior finance professionals. Classes will be conducted during the weekends and another evening on a working day, with session recordings available for viewing at leisure. Thus, the participants learn while earning as they continue to remain in their present employment.
The Post Graduate Diploma in Finance program has a comprehensive curriculum that prepares the students to a rapidly changing world of finance. Suited for the professionals who are interested in a career transformation with finance and managerial skills. By blending synchronous and asynchronous online learning approaches, the program flexibly delivers learning outcomes that are available in the regular mode. Since the course is offered online, students can participate from anywhere and viewing lectures anytime, including scheduling peer-to-peer interactions.
Courses are taught by experienced fulltime faculty of XLRI, select faculty from overseas and industry experts. Course plan is carefully crafted with summer internship opportunities, special workshops sessions from CFOs and industry thought leaders, Capstone Project and Simulations based modules involving trading and valuations. Students gain deeper insights into the emerging developments such as fintech and digital finance, data science and machine learning tools as applicable to finance. The course are mapped to the syllabus of the Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) program, thus helping participants in advancing their career options as a finance professional.
The program directors are Dr HK Pradhan and Dr N Sivasankaran, both are experienced finance professors of the institute. “The PGDF curriculum is aptly designed after extensive industry consultations covering the broader finance themes. Students gain deeper insights into the emerging developments such as digital finance and data science as applicable to finance. Enrolled students will have opportunities of availing career guidance from the Institute, including connecting with XLRI's alumni network. Besides, the regular speaker sessions involving senior corporate executives will give students opportunities for interactions”, says Dr HK Pradhan, the Program Director.
