A total of 555 new students have joined the XLRI student fraternity. 16 students enrolled for the new LSCM programme that is in collaboration with Rutgers Business School, USA. Apart from this, 15 students enrolled in the Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) and 20 students enrolled in the Executive Fellow Programme in Management (EXEC-FPM). And following is the breakdown of the other courses.
“XLRI, as an institution, has always taken special care to maintain diversity in the classroom by selecting a very diversified group of students in terms of gender, educational background, economic background, professional background, and region. We have always stressed upon the gender ratio. Some of the first women to study management in India are from XLRI. XLRI, being a Jesuit institution with strong values, not only pays great respect to women but also makes them feel secure & empowered”, says an official from XLRI.
The academic inaugural event was then followed by an ice-breaking event where all the students had participated and several games/activities were conducted. This two hour event was a complete refreshment and made all the students interact comfortably with each other.
The new students were then taken through a Special Orientation Programme drawn up by XLRI to update their knowledge before regular classes commenced.
