The Marketing Association of XLRI (MAXI) is all set to host the 42nd edition of MAXI Fair, the world’s oldest disguised marketing fair and a beloved legacy of the Steel City of India. This is the first time since its inception that MAXI Fair has gone virtual and has also expanded to become a national event. The Fair which has seen a regular footfall of 10,000+ from the residents of Jamshedpur, now looks forward to hosting the rest of the country. The Fair would be hosted online at: https://maxi-xlri.in/fair

The Fair was inaugurated by the Director of XLRI, Fr. Christie who gave the opening address. He was joined by Dean of Academics Prof. Ashis Pani, Prof. Sanjeev Varshney, Prof. P Venugopal, Prof. Giridhar Ramachandran, Prof. Smitu Malhotra, and Prof. Sharad Sarin, the man who had laid the foundation for the inaugural MAXI Fair. The ceremony was hosted by Nikhil Jain, the current secretary of MAXI. All speakers praised the team for their dedication and effort over the last few months which has made it possible to host the first ever digital Fair.

Like every year, MAXI Fair 2021 is backed up by industry giants such as ITC, HUL and Perfetti, which shows the faith that organizations continue to vest in MAXI and XLRI. The team has developed research games which will be hosted online on the website to conduct disguised market research.

Moreover, to keep the crowd engaged, a plethora of events like Dance Mania and Art Attack for Kids, MasterChef and Ms and Mrs Jamshedpur for young men and women and Jamshedpur Favourite Family for families have been designed. Two new event additions in the form of Cricket Mania and Photography have been introduced to capture a wide range of interests of the population.

The most looked forward to event- The Celebrity Night will this year host the glamorous Aastha Gill who has released multiple superhit songs such as DJ wale Babu, Naagin and Buzz. About MAXI - The Marketing Association of XLRI, or MAXI as it's fondly known as, is the oldest committee on campus. Established forty-nine years ago, in 1971, MAXI's mandate has been simple - to popularize the field of Marketing at XLRI and ensure that fun and quirkiness are an integral part of the entire process. This is achieved through a mix of competitive events, talks, interaction sessions, conferences and of course, the world-renowned MAXI Fair. It is often said that Marketing is something that needs to be experienced rather than studied, and MAXI uses this as one of its guiding principles. All events conducted by MAXI are designed to give students a deep, working insight into what Marketing is really about. MAXI is possibly the best-known and most respected committee, both within and outside XLRI. This standing is a result of constant innovation - be it in the more famous form of MAXI Fair, or other initiatives like Mindscapes - India's first seminar on the applications of Behavioral Research in Marketing.
