XLRI Students host Innovation Challenge for school students of Jamshedpur

18th October, 2022

XLRI recently concluded the inaugural edition of “Jamshedpur’s Best Young Innovators”, an innovation-based competition for school children in classes 9th-12th. This competition was ideated and conducted by final year students; Tejas Bagrecha, P Karthik, Shivani Rai, J Tanay and Naayl Humza belonging to XLRI’s flagship post-graduate management program under the Gales of Creative Destruction course by Prof Saurav Snehvrat. The competition saw the participation of students from more than 30 schools in Jamshedpur. The competition required students to identify an unaddressed or underappreciated problem in society and use innovation to develop solutions to these problems. 24 children were selected, based on their submissions, to attend a 2-hour interactive workshop on the methods of innovation delivered by the student team

AThe workshop culminated in a certificate distribution by the District Education Officer of East Singhbhum, Nirmali Kumari Bareliya, the Director of XLRI, Fr. S George, SJ, and Dean Academics of XLRI, Dr. Sanjay Patro. The team was guided by Prof Saurav Snehvrat and Prof Giridhar Ramachandran in their pursuit.

XLRI as an institution aims to nurture global leaders for the greater good. It is inspired by the Jesuit spirit of “Magis” which includes Creativity and Innovation. “Jamshedpur’s Best Young Innovators” is an attempt by the above-mentioned team to nurture a spirit of innovation in young students and contribute to the local community.
