FINAX is an acronym for "The Finance Association at XLRI"
FINAX is a committee of enthusiasts who have a flair for Finance and related fields The members have either already ventured into the world of finance or are looking forward to do so The committee with all its potential strives to promote finance related activities and careers for the students of XLRI It is one of the oldest committees at XLRI and caters to the students having interest in the finance domain.
Every year, the committee organizes GNOSIS at Mumbai, XLRI’s Flagship National Annual Finance Symposium having special guest speeches and panel discussions from some of the leading industry experts, top level executives and regulators The committee also organizes various other events like Dealbook, fin related educative sessions like those on equity research, union budget, various financial certifications like CFA, FRM etc FINAX strives to help the student fraternity by keeping them updated about the current on goings in the field of Finance and equipping them to do well in their SIPs and their interviews In line with the Jesuit Spirit of "" the committee endeavours to work for the betterment of student community by presenting them with every possible opportunity to scale new heights in the domain of Finance.
Vision
To establish XLRI as a leading B-school for finance specialization by enriching the knowledge of finance amongst the students, strengthening their involvement in the discipline, and increasing collaboration with academia and industry.
Mission
To carry out finance related activities at XLRI by conducting on campus programs through collaboration with the industry and other leading B-schools FINAX aims to be a successful liaison between students and industry We seek to facilitate student activities like guest lectures, workshops, speaker forums, research and live consultancy projects, etc which will help students become competent professionals.
FINAX has a research arm called the Student Investment Fund (SIF)
XLRI’s Student Investment Fund, is the in house equity research and investment team which carries out research covering major sectors of Indian equity market and seeks investment opportunities It manages a portfolio of funds contributed by the analysts and additionally is responsible for knowledge dissemination through sector reports and equity analyst reports.
SIF aims to cultivate a strong culture of investment education in XLRI through first hand experience of fund management and whil e doing so develop skills in the students that help them in the domain of finance throughout their lives. The knowledge transfer takes p lac e as Senior Analysts mentor the Junior Analysts alongside faculty guidance and help them achieve reasonable expertise in sector analysis and investment decisions.
